I'm using an iPhone/iOS device

If you have an iPhone 6, or newer, your device will be compatible 💃

If your Apple phone is older than an iPhone 6, it may not be 4G-VoLTE compatible, you can check using the steps below:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’ on your iPhone

  2. Tap on ‘Mobile Data’

  3. Tap on ‘Mobile Data Options’

  4. Tap on ‘Voice & Data’

  5. If your device is compatible with 4G VolTE or 5G, you will see either ‘4G’ or ’5G’ already selected

I'm using an Android

Most Android smartphones made in the past decade support 4G-VoLTE.

To make sure your device is compatible, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’ on your Android phone

  2. Tap on ‘Network & Internet’

  3. Tap on ‘Mobile Network’

  4. If your device is compatible with 4G VolTE or 5G, you will see either ‘4G’ or ’5G’ as an option under ‘Preferred network type’ or ‘Network mode’

More ways to check

If your device isn't listed above, we have some other methods you can check to see if your device is 4G-VoLTE compatible.

Three's Device Support Tool

Our friends at Three have a handy device tool* to help show your device's compatibility.

Simply search your device make and model, head to the specifications section and look out for VoLTE (4G calling in the UK)

If you don’t see the above on your device specifications or it has a red X against VoLTE (4G calling in the UK), it means your device is not 4G VoLTE enabled and you’ll need to upgrade.

If your device does not appear on these sites but you believe it is compatible, then please check with the manufacturer.

Other websites to try

You can also check out sites such as GSM Arena*, which provide device specifications too.

IMEI Check

If you've tried the steps above and are still unsure, follow these steps to check if your device is 4G VoLTE compatible:

  • Dial *#06# on your phone keypad to display your IMEI number. You can also find your IMEI number in your device settings, normally under General or About Phone

  • Once you’ve got your IMEI number, go to www.imei.info*

  • Enter your IMEI number and select Check.

  • Look at the LTE section – it will display all the frequencies your phone can use.

  • Your device must display 800. See below for an example 👇
