If you've recently ported your number to SMARTY and are having trouble with iMessage or FaceTime, don't worry! This is a common issue when switching mobile networks. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the problem and get iMessage and FaceTime working smoothly again.

❓ Why is iMessage and FaceTime Not Working?

When you port your number from one network to another, it can take a little time for the necessary settings and services to be fully activated. iMessage and FaceTime rely on certain settings and authorisations to work properly, so if you're experiencing issues, it might be due to these services not syncing with your new SMARTY account immediately.

🛠️ Steps to Resolve iMessage and FaceTime Issues

1. 🔌 Check Your Network Connection

- Ensure that you're connected to either a Wi-Fi network 🌐 or mobile data 📶. iMessage and FaceTime need a stable internet connection to work properly.

- If you're on mobile data, ensure you have sufficient signal strength.

2. 🔢 Verify Your Ported Number

- After porting, it's important to check t

hat your device is using the correct ported number and not the temporary number you were given.

- Go to Settings > Phone > My Number and ensure that the number displayed matches the ported number. If it shows the temporary number, update it to your correct ported number.

3. 🔄 Restart Your iPhone

- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor glitches. Turn your iPhone off, wait for a few seconds ⏳, and then turn it back on.

4. 💬 Sign Out and Sign Back into iMessage and FaceTime

- Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

- Tap on your Apple ID at the top, and choose Sign Out.

- Then, sign back in using your Apple ID.

- Similarly, for FaceTime:

- Go to Settings > FaceTime.

- Tap your Apple ID, and choose Sign Out.

- Sign back in with your Apple ID.

5. 🕰️ Check Date & Time Settings

- Ensure your device has the correct date and time, as incorrect settings can cause activation issues.

- Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure Set Automatically is enabled.

6. 📶 Update Carrier Settings

- Carrier settings updates help improve network connectivity and performance. These are usually installed automatically, but you can check manually.

- Go to Settings > General > About. If there’s an update available, you’ll see an option to update your carrier settings.

7. 🔁 Activate iMessage and FaceTime Again

- If iMessage or FaceTime are still not working, try reactivating them.

- Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off. Wait for a few seconds and then turn it back on.

- For FaceTime, go to Settings > FaceTime and toggle it off and on again.

8. ⚙️ Reset Network Settings

- If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, resetting your network settings can help. Please note that this will remove all Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings from your device.

- Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

9. 💬 Contact SMARTY Support

- If you've tried all the steps above and iMessage and FaceTime are still not working, contact SMARTY support for further assistance.

- You can reach them via live chat on the SMARTY website 💬

⚡ Additional Tips:

-🌍 Check Apple’s System Status: Sometimes, issues with iMessage and FaceTime may be related to outages at Apple's end. You can check Apple’s System Status page here.

- ⏳ Wait for Porting to Complete: It may take a few hours for all services to be fully activated after porting your number. Be patient, and try the steps above again after some time.
