Using a Smartwatch with SMARTY: What You Need to Know

If you're considering using a smartwatch with the SMARTY network, there are a few important things to be aware of.

No eSIM Support on SMARTY

Currently, SMARTY does not offer eSIM technology. This means that smartwatches requiring a cellular connection will not work on the SMARTY network. Cellular smartwatches are typically designed to function independently from your mobile phone, allowing you to make calls, send texts, and use data without needing your phone nearby.

Wi-Fi Smartwatches Are Compatible

If your smartwatch relies on a Wi-Fi connection rather than a cellular one, it will work with SMARTY. However, to access features like calling and messaging on a Wi-Fi-only smartwatch, your mobile phone will need to be within Bluetooth range.

Smartwatches with Physical SIM Cards (e.g., Kids’ Smartwatches)

Some smartwatches, especially those designed for kids, come with physical SIM card slots instead of using eSIM or Wi-Fi connections. Many of these devices require a SIM card from a 2G network to operate, but SMARTY runs only on 4G and 5G networks. Unfortunately, this means that kids' smartwatches that need a 2G SIM card won't work on the SMARTY network.

Key Differences Between Cellular and Wi-Fi Smartwatches 📊

  • Wi-Fi Smartwatches: Require your phone nearby for calls, texts, and data.

  • Cellular Smartwatches: Can work independently, allowing you to access calls and data without your phone.

  • Physical SIM Smartwatches (2G) : Often need a 2G network and are not compatible with SMARTY’s 4G and 5G-only network.

SMARTY’s SIM-Only Policy 📜

Since SMARTY is a SIM-only network, we don’t offer support for smartwatch pairing. For help connecting your smartwatch, check out the manufacturer’s support pages:

If you have additional questions, please reach out to your smartwatch manufacturer directly! 😊
