Activation should happen in just a few minutes, but could take up to 2 hours.

We’ll send you an email when your SIM is activated.

You’ll automatically get a brand new SMARTY number when you join. You can start using this number as soon as you activate.

Note: If you bought a SIM in store, other retailer, or received a bonus SIM, and haven’t created an account yet, go to and tap “Let’s get started” to sign up and activate your SIM.

Having issues activating your SIM?

Restart your device, if you haven’t already, to check that everything is up and running properly with your device.

Make sure that your phone is unlocked.

If it’s been more than 2 hours and you’re still having issues, contact a member of our support team via webchat who can help get this sorted for you.

Want to keep your old number and bring it over to SMARTY?

Follow these easy steps to transfer your previous number. We’ll also close your account with your previous provider for you as part of that process.

Want to cancel your old number with your previous provider?

If you’d like to take away the hassle of talking to your previous network provider, we can terminate your previous phone number and your services with your previous provider for you. Simply follow these steps to cancel your previous number. Only continue with this if you’re ok with letting go of your old number as you won’t be able to get it back.
