Spectrum

Frequency

Benefit

3G

Mid Band: 2100MHz

Coverage in certain rural areas.

Areas that only have 3G will be migrated to 4G during 2024.

4G

Low Band: 700MHz & 800MHz

Mid Band: 1800MHz & 2100MHz

Standard good speeds within the 4G bandwidth (faster than 3G).

4G+

Low Band: 700MHz & 800MHz

Mid Band: 1800MHz & 2100MHz

Combines multiple bands of 4G frequency to improve speeds

(supported on most 4G enabled devices)

VoLTE / VoWiFi

4G bands as above,

WiFi bands as provided by your home router.

Voice service over 4G or WiFi.

After 3G is phased out, voice service will only be available via VoLTE or VoWiFi. A compatible device is needed.

L-Band
(Previously called Super 4G+ or 4G++)

Mid Band: 1400MHz

An extra piece of spectrum that can be combined with the 4G+ bands.

Further improved speeds over 4G+

(customers must have an L-Band compatible 4G device).

5G

Mid Band: 3500MHz

A large block of spectrum running 5G technology.

Much higher speeds than 4G are possible.

(customers must have a 5G device supporting the 3500 MHz band).
