eSIM Activation Errors

eSIM is quick and easy to set up, but sometimes things don’t go as smoothly as expected. Activation errors can happen if the Wi-Fi connection isn’t strong or if the codes are entered incorrectly.

Let’s walk through the steps to get this fixed

Before installing your SMARTY eSIM, make sure you have the following:

  • A stable Wi-Fi connection

  • Your eSIM email containing the QR code and activation code

    • If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder

  • Your confirmation code (available in your SMARTY dashboard or provided by a SMARTY agent)

If you’ve already tried installing your eSIM and saw an error

The best option is to start fresh by requesting a new eSIM.

  • You can do this via your SMARTY dashboard, or

  • Get in touch with one of our friendly agents, who can arrange it for you.

Once you have your new eSIM details

Open your eSIM email, you’ll see three ways to activate:

  1. Scan a QR code

  2. Enter the manual activation code (and SM-DP+ address if using iPhone)

  3. Install eSIM directly on your iPhone

👉 A step-by-step activation guide is in the email to help you through the process. Check it out here too!

Don’t forget your confirmation code

  • You’ll also need a 4-digit confirmation code to complete activation.

  • This will be in your dashboard or provided by a SMARTY agent in chat.

  • ⚠️ It will not appear in any emails we send.

  • You only get a limited number of attempts to enter this code, so take care to enter it correctly the first time to avoid delays.

✅ With these steps, you should be ready to install your eSIM and get connected.

If you’re still having issues, you can get in touch with our customer care team here.
However, we recommend requesting a fresh eSIM from your dashboard first, as most problems are caused by poor Wi-Fi or an incorrect code being entered, and a fresh eSIM usually resolves these quickly.
